I hate the way you talk to me, and the way you cut your hair. I hate the way you drive my car. I hate it when you stare. I hate your big dumb combat boots, and the way you read my mind. I hate you so much it makes me sick; it even makes me rhyme. I hate the way you're always right. I hate it when you lie. I hate it when you make me laugh, even worse when you make me cry. I hate it when you're not around, and the fact that you didn't call. But mostly I hate the way I don't hate you. Not even close, not even a little bit, not even at all.

spring break @ adelaide
Thursday, September 20, 2007 12:02 am
went to adelaide for a visit+holiday last weekend for 4 days. stayed at kenny's place. he was my tour guide, accommodation provider, driver and photographer. he was everything la. without him, i'll be lost in adelaide.
left melbourne on saturday morning. had breakfast at billy something.. couldn't remember. then went to flinders U to pick up han ee and jaclyn before heading to adelaide hills. first stop is handorf, the oldest german settlement in south australia. a nice village. had lunch there. sausages of course. i had vienna with pretzel and potato salad. and then we went to beerenberg strawberry farm but the strawberries weren't in season so i can't pick my own strawberries. bought some jams. and then off we go to melba chocolate factory. a very very very old factory. but nothing much la. only got one old man working, making their famous licorice using ancient machinery. after that was some fairyland village. thought the houses were life-size but who knows, can only fit the figurines and who have to watch from outside through the glass panel. very quiet. had fun at the playground. hahhaa. and the most hilarious thing was the humpty dumpty thing. very very creative. last stop was the rocking horse at lobethal. apparently it's the world's largest rocking horse. nothing much also. we covered adelaide hills in one day. dinner was at my yen with kenny's friends. they're really a friendly bunch. had chinese food. lobster and crab. yum! but the bill was even yummier. a total of $35 per person. hahahahahaha. but the lobster noodle was gooooooooooooooooooooood.
second day was spent at barossa valley. we left quite late so had to tapau lunch. had AB aka adelaide burger from north adelaide. SUPER DELICIOUS! it's kebab meat and fries with ketchup and mayonnaise and erm.. cucumber i think. but damn nice!!! ok ok.. went to a winery at jacob's creek. had wine tasting since kenny was insisting that i try the wines. to him, i'm a weakling coz i told him i can't drink. and i don't like wine. end up buying a few bottles. but of course those that are not lethal, like riesling and dessert wine. i admit i can't drink la. so what? my reason: i THINK i'm allergic. hahaha. i seriously do. anyway, we visited lyndoch lavender farm after that. it was not how imagined it to be. what i was expecting was somewhere along the line of the one featured in the chinese movie "Lavender" starring kelly chen and takeshi kaneshiro. nonetheless, i'm still amazed by this one. lavender everywhere. took a lot of pictures. had a lavender scone. went to the barossa reservoir to see the whispering wall but it started raining right after we reach. and well, it was 5 minutes to the closing time so we decided to ditch it and go home. on the way back, could see a fields of yellow flowers. very nice scenery. dinner was at a vietnamese place with 2 of kenny's friends.
the third day was for the beach and the city. went to glenelg to have lunch. had oysters and fish and chips. i'm not an oyster fan but i have to say the oysters were really good. esp the one with sweet chili and cheese. the raw ones.. well, i can't differentiate between what's fresh and what's not but i can only say it didn't have the fishy smell. it didn't taste weird. so, it's GOOD right? FRESH. haha. after that was city tour. went to have a look at st peter's cathedral. it was very nice. i esp like the altar part with the carvings and all. after that we went to the place with colonel william light's statue, where you can see the whole of adelaide. the city i think. bloody hell asked me to stand on top of the thing and then wanted to push me off. went to the arts centre place thing and rested for a while. sat on the bench next to the torrens river and chatted for a bit. most of them in BM. wahahaha... my bm has gotten better. dinner was at wasai. had sushi and plum wine. nice. and yum cha with kenny's friend at pancake house i think.
last day was spent in the city as well. had lunch at cafe primo at gouger st, near central market. had the BEST polo bao EVER in australia, bought from a bakery in central market. CRUNCHY ok. so nice can pengsan omg wow! and i found my beloved bun with pork floss (inside type, not the ones you get from breadtop). wah wah wah so happy :D went to victoria square and took pictures of st francis xavier cathedral, the fountain and the post office. very nice. after that walked around rundle mall. nothing much to shop coz wasn't in the mood to shop. but in the end, bought a dress from live. a white evening dress. no occasion for it but heck la, it was nice. tea time was at cocolat. has been nagging kenny about it even before i touch down at adelaide. had a cupcake and iced chocolate. not that great. but i like the ambience. nice place to catch up with friends. not like max brenners.. so noisy and no couch! had ice cream also (lemon and blood orange). one last stop at north adelaide for the AB before i go to the airport.
all in all, it was a good holiday. sight-seeing, food, company, relaxation. i like the quietness of the city, the parks around it, the old buildings, the friendly people. oh man, i need to go to the botanical garden one of these days. anyone?

the hardest thing i've ever done
Friday, September 14, 2007 10:31 pm
ouch! it was painful at first, so painful that i was actually stunned and don't know how to react. but i assured myself it is too early to draw any conclusion given the circumstances. i continued holding on to it.
a week later, things got worse. there were strong evidence which suggested an undesirable outcome. one that has a high chance of occurrence. one that will make all my effort seem useless. one that threaten to shatter my dream. i was devastated but i did not show it. i was on the verge of betraying my heart when i suddenly snapped out of it. it's now or never. it kept playing in my head. go for it. just do it. GO!
and i did. i took all my courage with me and just went for it, for better or worse. i couldn't care less anymore. there! i've done it! i was all prepared to expect the worst. i KNEW what the result was going to be like. and i wasn't saddened by the truth. honestly. i was just a little stumped by the reply and the reason given but other than that, i felt alright. relieved actually, now that i finally got it off my chest. nonetheless, i must admit i did an analysis and discussion on the reason given, just to eliminate any confusion that might arise from it. i finally understood the meaning of the justification given and appreaciate the honesty i received. ah, such goodness but none for me to savour.
however, that might not be the end of it. maybe the news has not sank in yet. maybe i have yet to experience the aftermath of this revelation. maybe now is not the right time yet. maybe...

halo or horns?
Thursday, September 06, 2007 3:28 am
should i be the nice girl - sympathetic, provide a listening ear and encouragement,
or
should i be the opportunist - sabotage the connection, give negative advice and pessimistic view
to put myself at an advantage? that is, to divert the attention and affection to me in a subtle way.
my heart says the latter, but my conscience is pulling me to the former's side.
confusing. and frustrating.
time for chocolate and iced lemon tea.

merdeka celebrations
Sunday, September 02, 2007 10:22 pm
30th august: went for the merdeka countdown at gravity bar @ cq with dino, yen and her friends. very crowded, hot and stuffy and a bit potong esp the countdown part. was a bit bored at the beginning before the "countdown".
yen and i were waiting for time to pass just so we can go back after the so-called countdown. guess what... it wasn't even a countdown. half an hour before 2am (msian time:12am), they had 2 rappers (from msia, i THINK) performing. don't even know who they are. and then this guy called J.R (i THINK) performed. couldn't understand a word he's rapping. a few minutes after that, out of the sudden the MTV VJ (fazura?) just announced something like "it's the same time back home...bla bla bla MERDEKA!" and the whole place went "MERDEKA! MERDEKA! MERDEKA!" it was crazy! and they played the national anthem and we were supposed to sing but it was too noisy with everyone shouting "MERDEKA!!!!!!!!" and cheering on. woot! the whole "countdown" thing lasted for about 10minutes and the partying resumed.
stayed on for another hour before heading back. but it was fun being able to enjoy myself with some really cool girls. and oh, seeing dino being so happy on the dance floor. hehe. didn't take any pics (though yen's friend did. need to get it from her) but took this video.
